The George Mason Review accepts academic essays of any length and on any topic. Clarity of purpose, strength of syntax, and vivid prose are appreciated.
The Review also accepts creative work. Poetry, short stories, and creative nonfiction are considered. Writers are free to submit up to three academic essays, three creative nonfiction pieces, three fiction pieces, and up to five poems.
Artists who wish to be considered for The George Mason Review cover should send their work in .eps, .tif, or .jif format. Any medium is acceptable. Past covers have included painting, lithography, photography, and mixed media.
As printing funds allow, art is included within The George Mason Review in addition to being placed on the cover.
Written and art submissions
may be sent as an attachment to gmreview@gmu.edu by March
1 of each year in order to be considered for the Spring's
edition. Email submissions are preferable.
