Join Student Media, Women and Gender Studies Center, African and African American Studies, and the Institute of Current World Affairs for a panel discussion with international visiting fellows about their work on women and gender issues on a global level.

Panelists include Sahar Sarsour (women, media, and journalism in Palestine), Rugile Butkevičiūtė (gender-based violence in Lithuania), and Onyinye Edeh (girls’ health and empowerment in Nigeria).

Sahar Sarsour is currently working with Student Media as a visiting fellow through IREX’s (International Research & Exchanges Board) Community Solutions program to develop a “platform for Palestinian journalists to effectively and objectively express their messages and practice democracy and a culture of peace.” IREX works closely with the U.S. Department of State and is an international nonprofit organization “providing thought leadership and innovative programs to promote positive lasting change globally.”
