The Sports Broadcasting Team was created in 2013 as a faculty-directed partnership between Student Media and Mason Athletics and has evolved into a thriving experiential learning program that produces over 100 live sports broadcasts per year. All broadcasts feature behind-the-scenes work by student videographers and directors, with student on-air talent providing play-by-play commentary and analysis in real time.
Live sports coverage now includes wrestling, volleyball, baseball, softball, lacrosse, and soccer, with games airing on Mason campus cable channel 8.1, ESPN+, and/ or goMason.com.
