Student Media provides the Mason community with free live stream coverage of select campus events and programs. Viewers can tune in on campus cable channel 8.1 or watch live from anywhere online via masoncablenetwork.com/live.
This service promotes greater access to Mason by delivering quality content to a wide and diverse audience that may not be able to physically attend due to disability, geographic location, or limited event capacity. For example, one of our most popular live streams each year is the International Week Dance Competition, an event that attracts viewers from around the world who tune in to watch their friend or family member perform live from the Center for the Arts on Mason’s Fairfax campus.
Past live stream broadcasts have included Mason Madness, iWeek Dance Competition, Step Expo, Immigration Monologues, Fall for the Book, Insight Career Symposium, Red Alert Fashion Show, and TEDxGeorgeMasonU.
Each live broadcast is produced by students, so not only does the community benefit from increased access, but the student broadcasting team gains valuable hands-on experience and an opportunity to practice their craft in real time.
Visit masoncablenetwork.com/live for a full schedule of live streams.
